I. Meeting
began with a guest speaker - Misty McCormick from the Pcard office.
She did a presentation on the University Pcard System and how to use

II. Leslie
Porter did a presentation on HR – Managing Up: Building a
Partnership with Your Supervisor – Explores “common drivers”,
communication styles and tips to better your work compatibility with
your supervisor. Offered by Human Resources–Employee & Career

III. Welcome
new members – Mandrake Flores, Facilities Management. Loreli Panico,
Chemisty also attended. She was invited to attend and is considering
joining SAC.

1.
Tri-University Classified Staff Executive Board – Meeting was very
informative. Campus security text messaging was discussed as well as
environmental friendly buildings. Next meeting to be planned in
Tucson on January 11th. If anyone is interested in
helping to plan the meeting, please let Randy know.
2.
Communications - Cori Cashen – Next newsletter to come out in
November. If anyone has submissions, please pass them on to Cori.
3. Emily Krauz
Staff Endowment Fund – Ana Rodriguez – 3-D memo and emails to staff
went out with the new information.

Membership/Liaisons – Lupe Jacobo – One, possibly two, new members.

8. Activities
– Eva Gonzales - Sept. 23rd baseball game was big
success. The bus was filled and everyone enjoyed the goodie bags.
October 31st is the Halloween party. It has been changed
to the Tucson room rather than on the mall to avoid students from
attending (Classified Staff event only). Nov. 9th
craft/bake sale on the mall, $20 a table for staff employees, bake
sale to benefit the new children’s play area. February will be
another blood drive. More info to follow.
9. Crossroads
Conference – Lilian Schwartz – Narrowed down to four hotels – Hotel
Arizona, Marriott, Hilton East & Doubletree. A decision needs to be
made within a week about the location. Randy is interested in
checking out the places. President Shelton has given $5,000 in start
up fees. Thanks to Eva for all her work in securing that. Six
speakers are also confirmed.
