Opening:
Karen Stanley opened the retreat at 8:30am by welcoming new and
returning members to SAC and introduced Dr. Nancy Huber who is a
professor from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences who
specializes in Leadership who would act as the moderator for the
day. Barbara Lancaster was introduced as this year's
new President and also welcomed the group and introduced this
year's SAC Executive Board.
Dr.
Huber got the meeting started with several different introduction
exercises to start having everyone open up. These included
"who are you" and "truths and lies" tests.
Dr.
Huber had the group do the "Personal Profile System
Exam" which is an exam given to help determine personality
types. The group was asked to answer all questions
introspectively and honestly according to how they are personality
wise at work. This test also determines how each of us works
with others and to recognize our own strengths/weaknesses and how
to have this work best for each of us. The group was then
divided into groups according the personality profile outcomes and
wrote letters of invite to President Likins as different
personality types to practice skillful negotiation.
After a nice luncheon buffet from 12-1pm, Lisa Wakefield presented
information on each of the SAC Committees (Communications, Emily
Krauz Staff Endowment Fund, Employee Recognition, Human Resources,
Legislative, Membership/Liaisons, and Activities) so that each SAC
