This course explores the evolution of Israel from the rise of Zionism in
19th Century Europe, to the declaration of the State of Israel in 1948,
to the present day. This course will place an emphasis on interactive
generative processes with an understanding of the interplay between past
processes and present socio-political realities. It will also
survey Jewish and Christian apocalyptic literature which explores the
literary features and sociological significance of apocalyptic thought
in Western culture from antiquity to the present. |
