UITS FrontPage Web Site Security Agreement

Access to UITS hosted FrontPage accounts and the publishing of college and/or departmental web sites is a service available to members of the University of Arizona community, including students, faculty, staff and other affiliates as approved by UITS.  When using UITS hosted FrontPage accounts and web sites, you agree to:

1. Take no actions which violate the Codes of Conduct or Academic Integrity, Classified Staff Personnel Policy Manual, University Handbook for Appointed Personnel, or other applicable federal, state, or local policy or law.

2. Use the FrontPage account for purposes consistent with the University's mission and applicable policy or law. Inappropriate use includes, but is not limited to:

• publishing web pages regarded as defamatory, libelous, slanderous, or obscene, or infringing on the privacy rights of any person;
• gaining OR attempting to gain access to other FrontPage accounts or files without permission;
• taking actions which threaten the security or capacity of the host computer system, or which destroy, damage or overload host computer resources;
• masking the identity of the arizona.edu domain as a host site

3. Use the web site for official University of Arizona business.  Private and/or commercial use is strictly prohibited. Links to commercial web sites are permitted provided the link directs the end-user to information and content related to the mission or function of the college or department.  Links to commercial web sites or banners that generate or have the potential to generate revenues to any individual or company are not permitted. Users and web authors are acting as representatives of the University, and all files and contents of the account are owned by the University, not the individuals who have access to the account and its contents.

4. Use the web site to store files that are directly associated with the web site. Files not associated with the web site cannot be stored on the associated disk or made available to others. This includes the unauthorized storing, copying, transfer, or use of audio files, images, graphics, computer software, records, or other materials that would violate copyright, trademark, patent, licensing, or intellectual property rights of others, including University of Arizona trademarks and/or logos.

5. Whenever applicable, adhere to the UITS Computer & Network Usage Policy

Failure to abide by these policies may result in the revocation of access to relevant UITS hosted FrontPage account(s). Although we have backup procedures in place, use of these facilities is at your own risk since recoverability and security of data can not be guaranteed. Files, data and disks may be considered University of Arizona property and are therefore subject to access by the University. Certain data may also be subject to access pursuant to Arizona Public Records statutes, via subpoena, or consistent with other state or federal law.
